The museum is in Loimaa, approximately 5 km away from the town center towards Turku. Next to the museum is the highway No. 9 that goes from Turku to Tampere.

How to get here by bus and train

By bus

There is no direct bus route to the museum, but there are local bus routes and a regional bus that stop at the highway near the museum. The nearest bus stop is called “Karhulan tienhaara”, and it is roughly 400m away from the museum. The bus stops are not directly opposite to each other on the highway, but they both have the same name no matter which direction you take. The stops are roughly 100 m apart from one another. Bus tickets and time tables can be viewed at www.matkahuolto.fi, and tickets can also be bought on the bus. When searching for tickets, you have to use the abbreviation “Karhulan th” on the search bar. The busses operate only during weekdays.

From Loimaa town center, you can catch a local bus at the Loimaa train station from Mon-Fri at 10.15, 13.10, 14.25, and 16.10. It takes approximately 12 min from the station to “Karhulan tienhaara”. You need to inform your destination to the driver so they know where you get off.

You can take the local bus back to Loimaa from the “Karhulan tienhaara” stop from Mon-Fri at 13.07, 15.26, 15.57, and 17.12. The departure times are estimates, so it is advised to be at the stop at least a few minutes before the given estimate. As a rule, you must hail the bus to stop.

From Turku, you can take a bus from the bus station from Mon-Fri at 7.55, 12.10, 14.15, 15.00 and 16.15. The bus leaves from platform No. 5. You need to inform your destination to the driver so they know where you get off.

You can take the bus back to Turku from the “Karhulan tienhaara” stop from Mon-Fri at 10.21, 13.14, 14.30, and 16.15. The departure times are estimates, so it is advised to be at the stop at least a few minutes before the given estimate. As a rule, you must hail the bus to stop.

By train

You can take the train to Loimaa train station. From the train station you can take a bus to “Karhulan tienhaara” bus stop, which is approximately 300m away from the museum.
