The Finnish Museum of Agriculture will expand into a national special museum of the branch keeping, restoring and exhibiting agricultural items to the future generations. For this purpose the Museum of Agriculture will promote and organize the research of the branch and will maintain archives and a library. The museum will pass on traditions and customs related to agriculture and will act as a storehouse of information of the history of agriculture. Despite the activities that concentrate on the past it also strives to build a bridge to the future. Activity Centre
It is both a museum as well as a centre of activities with opportunities to see and familiarise oneself with the pleasures and pains of farming and living in the countryside.
Here you can personally try out what it was like to work with the tools of bygone days and compare them with the mechanized methods of today.
The children will have adventures of their own.
In the future you are also allowed to touch and stroke the animals, maybe even to take care of them. A farm with domestic animals is close by with possibilities to ride a pony, feed piggies, chickens and sheep. The whole family can also stay overnight on the farm.
